Custard French Toast with Whipped Cream & Berries

It’s french toast with a twist - brought to you by Ultra Mel Custard Creations with Snooze. The perfect combination for those who love this sweet breakfast meal and custard.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 slices brioche, or white bread slices
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup of Ultra Mel Custard
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
Whipped custard cream topping:
  • ⅓ cup whipping cream
  • ¼ cup of Ultra Mel Custard
  • 1 tsp icing sugar
  • Fresh strawberries (or berries)
  • Golden or Maple Syrup

METHOD:

Whisk together the cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, eggs, Ultra Mel Custard and vanilla essence. Pour into a shallow container so you can easily dip your bread into it. Using a drinking glass, cut out 6 break circles and then dip them, one by one, into the egg mixture. Fry the slices until golden brown on both sides.

Serving - Place one circle onto a plate and add a dollop of the custard cream and a few strawberries. Drizzle the top with syrup.
