Danup soccer clinic

As part of this its Mandela Month celebrations, DanUP invited children aged 9 to 12 from local communities to participate in the DanUP Soccer Clinic, an event that aligns with the brand’s purpose: to fuel a generation of men to develop a healthy outlook through balanced habits for physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

“Each of us remembers an experience from our youth that leaves a lasting, positive impact. We often see in the sporting world how exposure to opportunities, mentors, and ideas builds confidence and a belief in the ability to achieve dreams,” says Marlinie Kotiah, Corporate Affairs Director for Danone Southern Africa. “The DanUP Soccer Clinic aims to do just that — inspire change.”

DanUP stands as one of Danone’s purpose-led brands, as it commits to giving young men the inner and outer courage to live their truth. There is no better way to do this than through a sport that young South African children love. Soccer teaches fair play, inclusion, and respect. Globally, sport serves as a force for good just as Mandela’s legacy represents: doing good.

During this day, Danone employees step into the role of mentors and share valuable life lessons on leadership, commitment, creating meaningful futures, openness, drive, and self-awareness.

Lazola Dali, Marketing Manager and brand ambassador for DanUP, describes the product as a “nutritious blend of multi-grain and yoghurt.” Dali personally encourages young South African men to live with purpose and a sense of brotherhood that drives progress.
