OUR culture

Our culture is rooted in our mission (bringing health through food to as many people as possible), our Dual Project (economic performance and sustainability), as well as our HOPE values (Humanism, Openness, Proximity, and Enthusiasm). In support of these key elements are our five Danone Behaviors. Collectively, they underpin the success of our Renew Danone strategy.

Defined 25 years ago, the HOPE values are part of our DNA and unite us across countries, functions, and teams. They act as our moral compass, guiding us in everything that we do.

Crafted with the input of more than 60,000 Danoners, our five Behaviours go hand-in-hand with our values and are an enabler of our business results. They include:

We act and work as one team, across countries and functions

We empower our colleagues to act as owners and learn from mistakes to innovate and co-create the future.

We deal with complexity by bringing focus and a pragmatic approach

We are decisive and fact based, taking  responsibility for the results of our actions

When we commit to something, we move quickly into execution, allocating the required time and resources

We’re a people-centric company. Danoners are our most important and precious asset. Our successful performance is achieved "avec et par" (with and by) our Danoners. Our people are empowered to make a difference by leveraging their unique strengths and expertise for the benefit of successful teamwork.

Our people-centric approach is reflected in our commitment to creating an environment where each and every person has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and succeed.  We create the conditions for lifelong learning and continuous development, so that all our Danoners are equipped for a fast-changing world.

Inclusion and Diversity

At Danone, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique talents.

From Antoine Riboud’s 1972 speech that unveiled Danone’s dual mission, to our commitment as to our sustainability goals embedded in the Danone Impact Journey and B Corp, we are committed to driving both business results and social responsibility. Guided by our mission and HOPE values, we strive to be a force for good, driving meaningful and lasting change.

We aim to have a workforce that reflects the societies we live in, the partners we work with, and the customers and consumers we serve. We are committed to unlocking the power of our people: no matter who you are or where you come from, we want you to feel empowered to thrive and contribute to your fullest potential.

Our company policies reflect and reinforce this commitment.

  • The Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Policy underlines our dedication to an inclusive environment where individuality is celebrated and all contributions are valued, while ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

  • Complementing this, our DanBaby Parental Policy enhances support for working parents and caregivers.

To ensure a safe and welcoming environment, all employees are required to complete Anti-Harassment & Discrimination training. We also encourage any employee or third-party to use the Danone Ethics Line (www.DanoneEthicsLine.com) to report any instances of unacceptable behavior (even potential) they may face or witness.

We’re proud to hold that 100% of our permanent Danoners are on the Dan'Cares programme.
